Things Anarchists Have Faith In

by: Apostle
i.
twinkle of broken glass on nighttime asphalt
rust on office building girders and prisonbars
tears for friends’/strangers’ agonied gasps
thunderclap in rain-heavy sky
all Prophets scalped and lynched by colonizers
grey sloughing of flesh beneath soil

ii.
seeds with illegible blueprints buried under foot
ash of lightning-fire feeding dirt
alchemy of pollen into honey
aged rivers running new courses
wind entering body through breath
terrified crying of first-life

iii.
dancing at all times in all places
boomboxes on city-grass
uncommissioned curb murals
uncertified kitchens amid flood rubble
piles of water donated at riot lines
poems written in cement, where poems are forbidden

Apostle

“Apostle” from the Greek apóstolos, meaning “one sent forth.” Issued into the world with the echo of the Christ beating in their hearts, the Apostles journey toward Kingdom Come in every eon. Their only hope is that the prayers aching in their chests might be encountered in the world outside their flesh. They keep faith in the hour when the Angel of History will make whole what has been broken; an hour which is always within reach.

Thank you!

Here we are.
Let the work commence & continue, & change our hearts & Spirits, & Souls, & the material condition.

Amen & Amin.
