Today marks twenty-four days until the  Reflection and Resistance: Anarchism and Christianity X gathering at Area 15 in Charlotte, NC. Register to attend so you can get in on all the good stuff below.

New music: Jon Felton and his Soulmobile, Leron Simeon

Our tenth year will feature two first-time performances from Appalachian anarchist gospel troupe John Felton and his Soulmobile and chill-wave artist Leron Simeon.

Jon Felton and his SoulmobileLed by Jon Felton, the Soulmobile includes Gabriel Echeverri (fiddle, formerly of Lesser Beggars), Amy Fabbri (mountain dulcimer), Pappy Miller (banjo), Jake Compton (bass/mandolin), and BJ Lewis (drums and anything else). Together, they make music that is decreasingly dependent on “the grid” and increasingly dependent on the Spirit. The band makes its home in western Maryland, headquartered in Frostburg, where they live, work, pray, and scheme. They have made treasured friends at great small shows, and have toured as part of PAPA festival, Cornerstone Festival, the Jesus for President tour, the NYC Anarchist Book fair, Collapse House Winter Gathering, and Come Alive-a-Thon.

leron simeonLeron Simeon is the stage name of Cheronne Williams, a musician/songwriter/artist, originally from Toledo, Ohio and current resident in Charlotte, NC. Leron started writing/songwriting at the age of 12 and has since been avid and creative with the goal of inspiring individuals though music and uniqueness of sound. Leron Simeon can be translated roughly to “hear my song”: Simeon deriving from Hebrew and with Leron deriving from the french tongue. As a new artist, Leron paves his own road to set new ventures for his music and others, making his way slowly into the chill-wave, alternative, techno, electronica, and ambient styles of music.
